Ron Roy was born in Berlin, N.H. Harsh Magic is his second book. 
A young scrub tech and veteran of 30 years in the OR are thrown together when a young burn patient comes to the OR and a debate rages among staff over her treatment. 
Roy holds a degree in literature from St. Michael's College in Winooski, Vt., and makes his living primarily in the health care industry as a sterile processing technician.
